Where Our Journey Started

The Kawasaki Kids Foundation began with a little boy named Cooper—affectionately known as DJ Lil Coop—who brings music, laughter, and joy into every room. But when Cooper became gravely ill and was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease, his family found themselves on an unexpected journey through fear, unanswered questions, and the harsh reality that this disease can permanently damage a child’s heart if not treated in time.

Instead of letting this experience end in heartbreak, the Logan family turned it into a purpose.

Our Why: Cooper’s Story

Kawasaki Disease changed everything. What started as unexplained fever, emergency appendectomy and worry turned into a race against time to protect Cooper’s heart. Through swift action, the right medical team, and a whole lot of love, Cooper received lifesaving treatment but missed the vital 10 day window for diagnosis and treatment to save his heart. He developed a severe coronary aneurysm, a life-threatening complication that forever changed his journey. Just one year later, he faced another unimaginable battle—complete kidney failure. Through strength, hope, and the gift of organ donation, he received a new kidney at just 15 years old.

But as his family learned more, one fact became painfully clear—far too many families never hear about Kawasaki Disease until it’s too late.

So they made a promise: Cooper’s story wouldn’t end with survival. It would spark a movement.

From Personal Mission to National Movement

The Kawasaki Kids Foundation was founded on a simple but powerful belief! When families are educated and communities are aware, lives are saved.

What started in one Colorado community has grown into a nationwide network of families, doctors, supporters, and volunteers working together to protect children’s hearts and futures.

Today, we focus on three core pillars:

Education – teaching parents, schools, and medical professionals how to recognize Kawasaki Disease early.
Awareness – spreading the word in communities across the country so no child goes undiagnosed.
Family Support – walking alongside families through their toughest days with resources, connection, and hope.

Because of faster diagnosis, expanded awareness, and relentless advocacy over 170 children have been saved. Their lives, hearts, and futures are a testament to what this community can accomplish together.
