Cooper Logan| dj coop

Cooper is an outgoing, charming, and full-of-life DJ from beautiful Colorado with a passion for music, community, and bringing people together.

At a young age, Cooper faced a life-changing challenge when he was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease. This led to a giant coronary aneurysm, requiring him to take multiple medications daily, and later kidney failure, which he was able to receive a life-saving transplant in 2024. Despite these health challenges, Cooper’s spirit and determination remain unstoppable.

He has shared his love of music with audiences across the country, DJing at events like the MLB All-Star Game Fanfest in Denver, iHeartRadio events, local 5Ks and large corporate gatherings. Cooper uses his platform not only to entertain, but to inspire hope and awareness for children and families affected by Kawasaki Disease.

Samantha

When I was three years old, I came home from school with a high fever and a rash. The fever didn’t respond to Tylenol, and over the next few days, got worse. I was treated for strep and scarlet fever, even though the test was negative. My symptoms continued to change and worsen. I developed a strawberry tongue, peeling and painful skin, cracked and bleeding lips, and a fever that climbed over 104°F.

At the local emergency room, my mom mentioned Kawasaki Disease because a friend’s child had been diagnosed years earlier. Her concern was dismissed and we were sent home again.

As each day passed, new symptoms appeared. I developed swollen lymph nodes in my neck, and the fever wouldn’t break. Finally, I was admitted to a Children’s Hospital where doctors diagnosed me with Kawasaki Disease, and I received IVIG treatment on day seven. Thankfully, I did not develop any aneurysms, and was discharged several days later.

Almost two years later, I became very sick again. It started with a mild fever and red eyes, then suddenly turned into dangerously high fevers up to 105°F. Even after several antibiotics, I wasn’t improving. Soon, the same warning signs appeared—strawberry tongue, cracked lips, extreme fatigue, and very high inflammation markers. Even without all the classic symptoms, I was diagnosed with atypical Kawasaki Disease and received IVIG on day eight. Again, my heart was not affected.

Today, I am healthy and strong, with no lasting heart damage. I am a nationally ranked junior tennis player, and play five days a week.

I share my story because Kawasaki Disease is often missed. There is no single test, and it can look like common childhood illnesses. Persistent fever matters. Parents’ instincts matter. Early diagnosis can save a child’s heart—and their life!
