Bring the Kickin’ Kawasaki 5K to Your Community

Every step matters — and every community has the power to make a difference. By becoming a Kickin’ Kawasaki 5K Race Coordinator, you’re not just organizing a race — you’re helping save children’s hearts. This family-friendly event brings people together with purpose: to raise awareness, education, and support families battling Kawasaki disease. Whether you’re a seasoned event planner or simply someone with passion and drive, our team at the Kawasaki Kids Foundation will walk with you every step of the way. Together, we can grow this movement of kindness, community, and hope — one heart and one race at a time. ❤️

Kickin' Kawasaki 5K Fun Run

Being part of the Kawasaki Kids Foundation has been deeply healing for both our Kawasaki Kid and our entire family. Working alongside the foundation to host our family’s first-ever 5K was not only supportive and fun, but truly meaningful—every moment felt worth it for such an incredible cause. Through this experience, we’ve seen firsthand how powerful community can be. The people we’ve connected with, the awareness we’ve helped raise, and the funds generated will all create a greater impact than we may ever fully realize. Sharing our first 5K journey has brought hope, strength, and healing to our family—and reminded us that we are never alone in this fight.

The Heart Behind the Race

Over the past few years, we've realized how few people are aware of Kawasaki Disease and the serious toll it can take on a child. That’s why, with the support of our community and the Kawasaki Kids Foundation, we hosted the 1st Annual Kickin’ Kawasaki 5K in Dumas, TX.

We were overwhelmed by the love and support from our small Panhandle towns. Not only did we raise funds to support KD research and the Foundation’s mission, but we also connected with other local Kawasaki families — forming bonds that might never have existed otherwise.

Most importantly, we raised awareness. We had the chance to share our story and show others that while KD may change your path, it doesn't have to define your future.

To other Kawasaki Disease families: I encourage you to share your story. I truly believe we are each given our journey for a reason — even if we don’t always understand why. Our story was meant to be shared, and we hope that in doing so, we might help another family recognize the signs, seek a diagnosis sooner, and ultimately, save a child’s heart.
